When I began ETS 2, I did not know nothing about truck at all. I'll explain my experience on ETS 2, maybe you would understand what I search in this game. On ETS 2, I control everything with my controller and have no problem at all :Pħ50$ ? Yes, I can't afford at all a set-up like that :D You play Fligh Sim games since the mid 90 ? :O I use a lot of combination of buttons (for exemple : L1 + X, L1 + O.) so I can have a lot of controls ! I have 30+ keybinding (?) on my controller. I like a lot ETS 2 but I can't buy a wheel neither but I have fun to play it with my controller so it's okay !įor the number of buttons on the controller, I don't think it's a problem. (I did not know this term :P) is better but I can't afford to buy a set-up. I can only agree with you that H.O.T.A.S.

But it's good to know there are lot of plane out there on the web ! Freeware add-on are similar to mods by the way ? I don't know a thing about plane so I'm not sure what type of plane I'd like to pilot or not. I plan to play with the vanilla game first. Hello again ! First of all, thanks for the answers ! :) Better to get a dedicated sim for those if that's what you want.

There are no business type things in FSX but there are add-ons you can buy to add them, and it can get as complicated as you wish.Ībout the only thing missing is combat and space flight, and I'm not sure about either of those. I've never played any of the trucking simulators, but I've been tempted. I think most people just play it as a sandbox, one way or another. The small airport near your home is almost certainly in the game. Sometimes I fly out of the small airport near where I live, and I've been there and flown in real life (but not as a pilot, although he let me take the controls). I have duplicated the flights from several books and stories. After that I flew on FSEconomy which was pretty much the same thing but simpler. For about a year I ran a charter service complete with all business calculations. Mostly, I just get in an airplane and fly, and make up my own stories about what I am doing.

You are not required to do any of the tutorials. But at least it took 20 years to buy them all. I even had to replace all the controllers when computers went from game ports to USB, so you can almost double that number. A joystick is much nicer to use, but a controller should work just fine.

Keep in mind that I have about $750 worth of professional quality controllers here, but they aren't really needed. If you can drive a truck with a controller, you can fly an airplane with one.
